Upper Dublin Township, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and various regional partners, celebrated the completion and opening of the new Fort Washington Zip Ramp. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, marking a major milestone for the community’s infrastructure.
This new limited-access ramp provides a direct connection from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Fort Washington (PA 309) Interchange straight into the Greater Fort Washington District at Commerce Drive. The ramp was specifically designed to improve local mobility, significantly reduce congestion, and enhance overall access throughout the Fort Washington area.
Boles, Smyth Associates, Inc. (BSA) is proud to have been part of the collaborative effort that made this vital transportation improvement project possible. The ribbon-cutting included remarks from key project partners and local leaders, followed by the official opening of the Zip Ramp to traffic. BSA President Jack Smyth Jr., PE, attended the celebration alongside many distinguished state and local officials.

This project represents a big step forward in the ongoing revitalization of the Greater Fort Washington District. BSA looks forward to seeing the immediate benefits this enhanced connectivity will bring to local businesses, residents, and commuters.
