Boles, Smyth Associates, Inc. is a civil engineering firm with extensive and diversified experience in transportation, development and infrastructure improvements throughout the Delaware Valley area, Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region.

We have centered our fifty plus year practice on finding cost-effective solutions to projects large and small where success depends upon communicating with and responding promptly to the needs of our clients, involved communities and public agencies.

This interactive approach applies throughout all phases of the development of design so that innovative concepts can be best transformed into fundable, timely, and buildable projects. It also has helped in adapting to changing conditions and in resolving emerging issues before they can threaten project viability.

Strong working relationships with other design and consulting firms have allowed us to deal with a minimum of delay and difficulty on the full range of environmental, historic, and other regulatory requirements as they may occur.

As a result of this approach, we have had primary responsibility in the successful redesign of key links in the Pennsylvania highway network. Highway projects, which were for many years deadlocked by controversy, were redesigned with increased transportation effectiveness, fewer impacts, and with public acceptance, even in very sensitive community and environmental settings.

Our office size has been limited so that the principals can manage all of our projects directly. We have opted mainly for Pennsylvania projects to permit more direct involvement during construction and to provide optimum accessibility for our clients.
